Taking Stock: June

taking stock

June, you rocked! You went really quick, but you rocked!

It’s been a while since I stopped to take stock. So once again, inspired by Pip from Meet Me At Mikes, here’s what June looked like.

Making : Cupcakes for Miss Six’s birthday party
Cooking: To survive. It’s not my strength
Drinking : Iced tea. Aqua coco from T2
Reading: As usual… blogs, blogs and more blogs
Wanting: Winter to be over. I’m done, bring on spring
Looking: Forward to a visit to my home town soon
Playing: Eye spy. It’s my2morrows latest fave and great for Sydney traffic!
Deciding: What to pack for Pro-Blogger. Even though it’s over a month away, and I have 3 work trips before then.
Wishing: Australia would hurry up and legalise same sex marriage already!
Enjoying: One on one time with Master 4. My gentle soul!
Waiting: for Pro Blogger! So excited!
Liking: Future ways of working – new office with hot desks and awesome technology. No phones, just soft phones. And close to Pitt St mall in the city – dangerous
Wondering: How my2morrows could possibly be 4 and 6!
Loving: The Bright Eyed and Blog Hearted course I’m doing at the moment
Pondering: Where I want this little blog to go
Considering: Becoming an eternal student… I just love learning!
Buying: A new dress for our fancy date night
Watching: Australia’s next top model. Who’se it going to be? Brit or Lucy?
Hoping: We can get through winter without getting sick… again!
Marvelling: At the awesome sea of rainbows in my news feed lately!
Needing: To get more organised with meal planning
Questioning: Where I want this blog to go and what I want it to be
Smelling: Peppermint tea
Wearing: Dresses and boots
Following: This awesome series from Sammie at The Annoyed Thyroid
Noticing: How big my2morrows are getting. There’s 23 months and 10cm between them
Knowing: A little more about blogging every week! Gosh there’s just so much to learn
Thinking: I need to make more time for some mindfulness in my days
Admiring: The top 100 Kidspot voices of 2015 including some of my blogging friends. So proud of them!
Sorting: Odd socks
Getting: Ready for performance review time/tax time and hopefully BONUS time!
Bookmarking: 30 easy family dinners from Lauren at Create Bake Make
Disliking: That my fave tv show, Revenge has finished forever!
Opening: Too many windows. both on the ipad and in my brain
Giggling: At the stuff my little Mr comes out with
Feeling: Like I’m coming out of a fog after being sick
Snacking: Sweet & salty popcorn
Helping: Miss 6 learn to read. It’s so fascinating how quickly it happens
Hearing: This playlist & wishing I could fly straight to Paris

  1. It’s a good day for Taking Stock isn’t it?!! ;-) I’m excited for ProBlogger too but haven’t even started to think about what to wear yet! I’m actually enjoying winter because summer was sooooo long and sooooo hot and I’m enjoying not sweating for a while. I also love doonas, winter clothes and yummy homemade soups :-) I love learning too – just wish I could afford to do all the studies I’d like to!! Might see you in August! :-)

  2. I wish I were going to ProBlogger! I hope all the participants take loads of notes and share blog posts on what they are learning so non attendees like me can glean at least a little bit of new knowledge too!

I too am reading more and more blogs! I wish I had time to read even more of them. I no longer seem to watch hardly any TV or read any magazines, it’s all blog reading!

    1. me too Ingrid. I used to get every magazine with my old media job, but now I only read 1 or 2 regularly. Its all about blogs these days! So many good ones out there isnt there!
I’m sure we will all be taking notes, posting and live tweeting the help the FOMO! Sorry you cant be there ;)

  3. Oh a great read Shannon – I really wanted to do The Bright Eyed and Blog Hearted course, I have heard AMAZING things about it. Let me know at the end if you would recommend it! I am loving the sweet and salty popcorn too btw, that stuff is addictive:P xx

    1. I’m loving BE&BH Ashlea… I’ll let you know at the end how it all goes but I think you’d love it! xx

  4. WATCHING: The Bachelorette (so bad but oh so entertaining!)
READING: Girl on the Train (loved it, highly recommend!)
MAKING: My sons birthday cake which I blogged about this week.

Sucky about Revenge ending without giving them the chance to end it properly! Did it end well? I watched season 1 and 2 and then got a bit bored as it got a bit crazy (sorry, don’t hate me!).

    1. I’ve heard so many good things about girl on the train. I must get onto that! If only there were more hours in the day for reading!
Revenge did get a bit crazy towards the end, but I was so hooked I kept watching anyway. And the bachelorette is my fave reality show… no judgement here ;)
Thanks for popping by Haidee xx

  5. I’m making a pinata cake for the hubster’s birthday (or at least I’m attempting to,) looking forward to putting the Christmas tree up (it’s July!) and loving my popcorn machine! I cannot wait to see pics of this pinata cake! Dave is one lucky hubster! And there’s nothing like properly popped popcorn! I like mine with butter and icing sugar sprinkled on top!

    1. Oh me too Malinda! Its a tedious game and my little Mr doesn’t yet quite understand what some words start with so he will say Eye spy something starting with ‘C’ and then his thing will be a “Tree”. Drives me crazy but is also pretty cute! xx

    1. Thank you Pam! Currently lists are a great idea! Its so easy to forget these little details so important to capture them somehow.

Hope to meet you at PB and my tip is Brit too! xx

  7. I’ve been watching AUSNTM too, after one og my photography teachers at Tafe recommended watching it to see the studio set-ups and how the photographers work with the girls. It’s become my guilty pleasure! So glad that Brit won, she was my fave from the start and definitely the best of the bunch, so much natural talent there, I’d love to photograph her!

    1. I’m glad Brit won too Kylie! What a story she has huh! Looking forward to seeing them both go on to do amazing things in the industry!
Thanks for popping by. I love #teamIBOT! xx

  8. I’ve only stumbled across this idea this month, I know right, where have I been, under a rock?!?

  9. I love doing Taking Stock posts, it’s such a fun and reflective exercise. I haven’t done one in awhile but you have inspired me to get back into it.

    I’m currently…

Loving: The Bright-Eyed and Blog-Hearted course (as well!)
    Drinking: Chai tea
    Marvelling: At the rain.
