Taking Stock: October 2016

taking stock

It’s been so long since I blogged, I forgot my password! I didn’t intend to not blog for this long, but life sorta just happened and here we are and it’s November! WTAF?!

So I thought I’d ease back into blog land and take stock once again, inspired by Pip from Meet Me At Mikes.

Taking Stock is such a great way to look back at the month that was, breathe it all in and brace for the silly season. Here we go…

Taking Stock: October 2016

Making: French knitting with Miss 7 – not sure what we’re making yet!

Cooking: Not much lately… there’s been a lot of take-away

Drinking: A new sleepytime tea blend my bro gave me for my birthday

Reading: Truly Madly Guitly by Liane Moriarty

Wanting: Some new active wear to go with my new sneakers

Looking: Forward to the Christmas break

Playing: The bad parent eating the kids Halloween loot

Deciding: Whether to publish this post or go to bed

Wishing: That the tragic events in Dreamworld last week never happened

Enjoying: Spring time BBQ’s and beers. Tis the season!

Waiting: For my lottery numbers to come up

Liking: All my friends Halloween photos in my feed tonight

Wondering: What several actually means. Is it 7ish of something or more than 1 of something? (current argument with the huz)

Loving: That our Labrador is out of confinement after her knee surgery. It’s been 6 weeks of trying to keep her still!

Pondering: What to do with my life now that The Bachelorette is finished? #teammatty

Considering: Getting a facial soon. It’s been years!

Buying: Cami’s from Cotton On. In every colour!

Watching: Q&A

Hoping: To find time to connect with friends more often

Marvelling: That my little man is starting school next year. He’s sooo ready!

Cringing: When I think about the amount of lollies my kids came home with after Trick or Treating. Note to self – make dentist appointments!

Needing: To get the car serviced. It’s a few months overdue!

Questioning: Everything lately!

Smelling: Essential oils in my diffuser – today’s blend is Clary Sage, Frankincense, Wild Orange & Rosemary

Wearing: Can’t wait to wear my birthday pressie from the Huz – this beauty from my fave Spell & The Gypsy Collective

Following: Instagram stories. All the Instagram stories!

Noticing: How few flexible (part time) jobs are advertised!

Knowing: That this could be the last year we can use Santa bribes

Admiring: All the Telstra Business Women’s Award winners. So inspiring

Sorting: Kids clothes and realising how lucky they are to get a new wardrobe pretty much every season

Getting: Ready excited for summer and wearing OTS tops!

Bookmarking: Articles on essential oils

Coveting: Kitchen and open plan living… one day!

Disliking: Trolls. So much going on lately in blog land

Opening: New boxes of tea from T2 that a gorgeous friend bought me for my birthday

Giggling: At Master 5… “Daddy, you’re not the boss. Mummy is and so is Santa”.

Feeling: Tired at this time of year. Overwhelm is creeping in

Snacking: Baby cucumbers

Helping: Miss 7 with her homework. It takes so freakin long! Tell me it gets easier??!!

Hearing: Passenger’s new album on Spotify on repeat!

Linking up to #IBOT with Kylie Purtell here.

  1. Yay, you’re back! I missed you! I can’t stop thinking about those poor families affected by the Dreamworld tragedy – it makes my heart hurt. So much sad news!

FYI, several means more than one or two, but not many. I only know that because I had to teach it one time in a vocab class! Hope you get that facial soon!

  2. Good to have you back. Nodding along to many things. Sounds like you got lots of great birthday presents. Homework gets easier for a while in primary when they can manage alone and then they start having really hard work that needs us at times (grade 7 is really challenging me this year lol when she needs math help! There have been tears)

  3. Yay for a taking stock post to get you back. Maybe that is a good thing! Glad you have blogged again and its been good to see what’s been happening and on your mind. Denyse xx
